Todd Summer

Todd Summer is the CEO of Aztec Shops and Associate Vice President of Business and Financial Affairs at San Diego State University.12 He was appointed to these positions effective January 1, 2017.2

Summer has been with Aztec Shops since June 2004, initially joining as the associate director of Course Materials before becoming the director of Campus Stores in November 2007.2 Under his leadership, Aztec Shops has been at the forefront of the college store industry, introducing early print rental and digital textbook programs.2

Prior to his roles at SDSU, Summer had experience in various retail establishments, including Macy's and Kids 'R' Us. He also worked for a national promotional marketing agency and was a general manager of a casual dining restaurant.2 Summer is an alumnus of Boston University, having received his bachelor's degree in business administration with a focus on marketing in 1986.2

In his current role, Summer oversees the operations of Aztec Shops, which provides various services to the SDSU community, including campus stores, dining and hospitality services, and real estate management.13 He is known for his innovative approach and leadership in the college store industry, having served on several boards, including as a past president of the National Association of College Stores.2
