Todd Martin

Todd Martin is the Co-Founder of Tucson Tamale Company, which he established alongside his wife, Sherry, in 2008. Their journey began with a small takeout restaurant in Tucson, Arizona, and has since expanded significantly. By 2016, their products were available in approximately 300 stores, and today they are sold in over 5,000 locations nationwide, alongside a robust eCommerce platform shipping over 15,000 packages annually.12

Background and Career

Before venturing into the food industry, Todd Martin had a successful career at Intuit, where he held various roles including Director of Technical Support and Director of Knowledge Management. His experience there helped him develop essential business skills that he later applied to Tucson Tamale.13

Tamale Tradition

Todd's passion for tamales was ignited during his first tamale-making experience in his wife's family home, which involved a large gathering and traditional recipes. This event not only deepened his love for tamales but also inspired him to transform this family tradition into a thriving business.24

Current Operations

Under Todd's leadership, Tucson Tamale has grown to include a USDA manufacturing facility and a second production site opened in 2022. The company focuses on creating healthier tamales while maintaining traditional flavors.125
