Todd Austin

Todd Austin is a Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Michigan focusing on computer architecture, system design, verification, and performance analysis.

He served as the director of the Center for Future Architectures Research, a center aimed at advancing computing system performance and efficiency.

Prior to his academic career, Todd worked as a Senior Computer Architect at Intel's Microcomputer Research Labs.

He is known for creating the SimpleScalar Tool Set and co-authoring the computer architecture textbook 'Structured Computer Architecture, 6th Ed.'

Apart from academia, Todd is involved in multiple ventures including SimpleScalar LLC, Agita Labs Inc., and InTempo Design LLC.

His accolades include being a Sloan Research Fellow, receiving the ACM Maurice Wilkes Award, and being recognized as an IEEE Fellow.

Todd holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin and has a diverse educational background in Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering.
