Tobias Auferoth, CFA, is a seasoned investment professional with 17 years of experience in venture capital with a focus on fintech and crypto, as well as equities, particularly in emerging markets.
With a strong background in investment, Tobias spent 10 years in venture building and investing, securing over EUR 80 million in funding from top VCs and family offices including names like Notion Capital, HV Capital, and Earlybird.
During his tenure, he co-led a VC investment team responsible for the successful exit of mySugr to Roche and built three VC-backed Fintech startups including Upvest, Acatus, and Savedo, with the latter being acquired by unicorn Deposit Solutions. Additionally, Tobias invested in the D2C lifestyle brand Achilles Berlin.
Prior to his venture capital engagements, Tobias Auferoth gained 7 years of experience in top-tier investment banking in London and Frankfurt, working for prestigious firms such as UBS and Goldman Sachs.
In terms of education, Tobias holds a Diplom-Kaufmann in Business Administration from WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management, an MBA from UBC Sauder School of Business, an MCom/MBA from WASEDA Business School, and a Diplom-Kaufmann with an intercultural qualification in Japanese from the University of Mannheim.
