Timon Sloane

Timon Sloane is a highly accomplished and recognized expert in the networking, telecom, and mobile industries. He is currently serving as the VP of Marketing & Ecosystem at Open Networking Foundation, where he is responsible for managing marketing, community building, and event planning. Prior to this, he worked as a Product Strategy & Management Consultant at Ericsson, where he helped clients navigate the complex landscape of open source software for operators. His tenure at Ericsson exposed him to cloud computing, mobile networking, IaaS, PaaS and SaaS, and network security.

Timon Sloane is an alumnus of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he studied BS in Computer Science. Timon's professional experiences include senior management positions at several top tech companies, including Matisse Networks, Extreme Networks, and WebStacks, where he helped develop and market products that addressed cutting-edge technologies, such as CORD (Central Office Re-Architected as a Datacenter), Intrusion Prevention, SDN, and Wireless Networking.

In addition to his current role at the Open Networking Foundation, Timon Sloane is also a well-known speaker, thought leader, and evangelist for the open-source supply chain. He has been known to speak passionately about the industry, frequently sharing his insights on topics like distributed storage, edge computing, NFV, SDN Enabled Broadband Access (SEBA), and VNFs. His extensive experience and expertise in the industry have earned him numerous recognitions, including being named a 'top 25 mover & shaker' in telecom by Fierce Telecom.
