Tim Pickens is an accomplished inventor, engineer, entrepreneur, innovator, and designer. With over 25 years of experience in the aerospace industry, Tim specializes in designing, fabricating, and testing propulsion hardware systems. He has designed various rocket motors, composite components, and rocket fluid control electronics, among other vehicle components. Tim is also an expert in commercial aerospace, propulsion, and product commercialization. He has been involved in multiple amateur rocket design efforts, including being the lead propulsion engineer on SpaceShipOne, the $10 million Ansari X Prize winner. Tim founded Orion Propulsion, a Huntsville-based aerospace company, in 2004, and grew it to 40 employees and $6.4 million before selling it to Dynetics in 2009. He has received numerous awards for his contributions to the aerospace industry and provides consulting services as a subject matter expert. Tim applies lean philosophies to develop creative solutions and innovative partnerships to provide responsive, low-cost products and services.
