    Tim Okamura is a celebrated artist known for his unique painting style that fuses 'realist' techniques with collage, spray paint, and mixed media to explore themes of identity, the urban environment, and cultural iconography.

    Originally from Edmonton, Canada, Okamura holds a B.F.A. with Distinction from the Alberta College of Art and Design and an M.F.A. in Illustration as Visual Journalism from the School of Visual Arts in New York City.

    As a recipient of the 2004 Fellowship in Painting from the New York Foundation for the Arts, Okamura has showcased his work in numerous galleries across the U.S. and Canada and has been featured nine times in the BP Portrait Award Exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery in London, England.

    His accolades include being short-listed for a commissioned portrait of the Queen of England in 2006 and having a retrospective exhibition at the University of North Carolina in 2013, highlighting nearly a decade of his artistic production.

    Notable institutions such as the Davis Museum at Wellesley College, The Alberta Foundation for the Arts, and the Toronto Congress Center house Okamura's art in their permanent collections, along with international locations like the Hotel Arts in Calgary, Canada, and Standard Chartered Bank in London, England.

    Additionally, Okamura's work has garnered attention from celebrity collectors including Uma Thurman, John Mellencamp, Ahmir 'Questlove' Thompson, Ben Younger, Bryan Greenberg, and Ethan Hawke, among others.
