Tim Nickles is the Founder and CEO of Roofnest, a company that specializes in designing and manufacturing hard shell roof top tents for outdoor enthusiasts.15

As a long-time Boulder, Colorado resident of 25 years, Tim has a deep-rooted passion for the outdoors that stems from his childhood.1 He grew up exploring the Alaskan wilderness, hiking and camping, and began skiing at the young age of 3. This early exposure to nature significantly shaped his perspective and inspired his future endeavors.1

Tim's outdoor adventures expanded as he got older, including winters spent skiing in Chamonix, France, and summers dedicated to mountain biking in Boulder.1 These experiences led him to appreciate the importance of high-quality camping gear in accessing and enjoying outdoor lifestyles.

The idea for Roofnest was born from Tim's personal experience with rooftop tents. He found that they provided a comfortable sleeping experience comparable to a bedroom, while offering the advantage of waking up to stunning natural surroundings.1 This realization sparked his passion for improving rooftop tent design, ultimately leading to the creation of Roofnest and its superior hardshell rooftop tents.
