I am a proud co-founder of a social impact project to bring about dramatic change to empower Indigenous communities globally using blockchain technology and the power of NFTs. 

One of the key problems we are solving is that all too often royalties due to Indigenous artists for their works do not get passed on to the original artists (any piece over a given threshold - typically $1,000 - has a legal mandate that requires a 5% royalty is paid to the original artist)

NFTs do this by creating a unique digital fingerprint for a digital file. NFTs enable:

- The creation of permanent digital ownership of a digital file.
- Every time the NFT is subsequently sold, a smart contract automatically passes the digital fingerprint, ie ownership to the new owner.
- Smart contracts on the NFT exchanges enable pre-programmed automated royalties - typically 5%. The original artist, via their publisher,  receives this royalty automatically when the exchange sells a piece.


I am responsible for all content production together with providing strategic guidance on the project to ensure we can ensure clear, consistent messaging, enabling the maximization of our partnerships & ongoing relationships.

Fractonium is a funding platform that turns traditional Corporate Funding on its head. By considering a flexible capital stack that gives borrowers a far more flexible approach to funding it helps corporate borrowers to overcome the painful restrictions of traditional banking. 

Blending tradeable, programmable tokens that represent fractional assets, revenue flows and debt into the traditional capital stack of debt and equity:

- increases funding flexibility, 
- opens up new global pools of capital, 
- reduces operational & regulatory risk, and 
- creates new financing models globally.  

Working with a significant, early-adopting bank in Asia, we trained (in person) 120 of their senior and middle management staff to understand how blockchain technology works and, more importantly, how the technology could work for the bank in local markets to create new banking opportunities. 

We developed a proof of concept for the bank to enable the fractionalization of gold bars. Using our technology: 

- the bank could offer tokenised fractions of a gold bar (down to $5 in value). 
- once accruing sufficient tokens, banking customers could redeem the tokens for a gold coin. 

This enables previously unbanked customers to begin their investment journey.

This was a prelude to other fractional ownership business models in emerging markets and to explore other funding problems that are unique to Asian markets. In these markets, discussions with regulators are faster and more open, enabling fast-moving products to be developed more effectively.

(The bank was based in an Asian country that was subject to a military coup. This, at the same time when COVID had taken hold on the country and globally) 

The core Fractonium project is on ice as a slow-burn project that will mature more fully once Western regulation meets and understands more fully the fast-moving technology that it seeks to regulate.

Libra had the potential to be a global game-changer in so many different ways, and with the consortium of partners focusing on establishing a voice here in Australia to enable a global and freely available digital currency that has the potential to empower the unbanked globally.

In early 2014, I was the executive producer, writer/director of 54 Days - a mulit-award-winning crowdfunded, independent feature film. The movie was nominated for 12 awards, & won 6 awards on the international film festival circuit including the Grand Jury Prize at The Idyllwild International Festival of Cinema in CA, and has secured UK distribution in November 2015. 

The movie involved co-ordinating 116 people on a complex project - bringing it in ahead of schedule and on budget.       

The movie is about:

"5 people trapped in a 1960's nuclear bunker after an attack on Sydney. As food and water begins to run out they are forced to make the impossible decision - either one dies or they all die."

I joined HSBC Corporate Banking as their Receivables Finance Product Specialist for NSW, QLD and WA. The role specialized in providing support for Corporate Clients who had an international focus, and whose banking requirements were in excess of $1m. Deal sizes typically ranged from $10m - $150m 

Within the Receivables Finance Division we specialized in the following three areas :
1)	Financing Export Receivables
2)	Financing Commercial Receivables Finance
3)	Providing limited recourse off-balance sheet finance (subject to client’s auditors opinion) for corporate clients in excess of $50m turnover.

As part of my overall remit I worked closely with HSBC’s Corporate Bankers, structuring banking facilities that met Corporate Client’s requirements, especially within the requirements of supply chain finance for international companies.

Key Achievements

-	Exceeded required metrics, hitting 140% of targets in the year ending 2013 (130% - 2012). 
-	Period August 2012 – February 2013 I was acting head of receivables finance following the resignation of the incumbent head, producing strategy documents for the proposed effective growth of new business for the division.

Originally written as a screenplay and developed with the assistance of a writers and actors collective (Parnassus Den), together with professional feedback after finishing 4th in a screenplay competition, I decided to novelize the screenplay five years ago, with the final result now available on line in Kindle format on Amazon and other digital platforms .
