Tim Curtis
Professor of Vascular Physiology at Queen's University Belfast
Prof. Tim Curtis holds the position of Chair of Vascular Physiology and serves as one of the Deputy Directors at the Wellcome-Wolfson Institute for Experimental Medicine at Queen's University of Belfast.
He is also the Academic Lead for the Advanced Imaging Core Technology Unit within the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences at Queen's, focusing on identifying new therapeutic targets for diabetic retinopathy.
Prof. Curtis, with his research team, conducts studies on the physiology and biology of the microcirculation in the eye and other vascular beds to develop innovative treatment approaches.
He pursued a PhD in Physiology at the University of Plymouth and holds a BSc (1st Class) in Biology with Oceanography from the University of Southampton.
His academic journey includes roles such as Professor of Vascular Physiology, Reader, Senior Lecturer in Vision Science, and Lecturer in Vision Science at Queen's University Belfast.
Earlier in his career, he served as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at Queen's University of Belfast under the Wellcome Trust.
