The Ted Rhodes Foundation is named after my grandfather golf pioneer/legend Ted Rhodes. He was the first black to play in a Professional Golf Association (PGA) event and was granted posthumous membership into the PGA in 2009. Tiger Woods studied Ted Rhodes game and named him as one of the pioneers that paved the way for him to play golf when he won his first Master's tournament.The Ted Rhodes Foundation's mission is to preserve and honor the legacy of Ted Rhodes and carry out  his vision to allow everyone the chance to play, by advancing future generations of minority golfers. The foundation exposes youth to the game of golf and gives them an avenue to play the game on a competitive level. The foundation hosts youth golf events, adult golf tournaments, and golf clinics in Chicago, Hammond, and Nashville, TN.  The foundation provides scholarships to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) schools with golf programs. For the Corporate office, hired over 200 people for the the following offices: Budget/Grants Management, Chief Education Office, Communications, Family & Community Engagement, Finance, Information Technology Services, Operations, Office of the Treasury, Procurement Services, Safety & Security, Student Transportation, and the Talent (HR) Office.•Developed the Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU) campus recruitment strategy for the school based positions and built relationships with the School of Education at Clark Atlanta University, Florida A & M University, Fisk University, Howard University, and Tennessee State University. •Represented CPS at career fairs at the diversity schools and majority schools to attract students for teacher and corporate office roles. •Assisted school principals with hiring teacher candidates for high needs positions, such as Physical Education, Arts, and Special Education.I had the unique opportunity to participate in the recruitment process for the Visiting Teachers from Spain program. The Visiting Teachers are highly ranked in Spain and have a great educational background along with a diverse teaching background. This consisted of me interviewing over 100 candidates and testing the candidates for English proficiency and conducting the interviews. Ultimately, I hired 25 teachers from Spain to spend 3 years at CPS teaching bilingual and English as a Second Language courses.

School Outreach Manager-Additional Learning Opportunities (ALO) Program

ALO was a pilot program at Chicago Public Schools. We launched the program at 5 elementary schools on November 1, 2010 and launched an additional 10 elementary schools on January 3, 2011. The program was mandatory and extended the school day by 90 minutes. Each student (1-8 grade) had a computer and worked on a customized on-line math and reading curriculum.
