Bonnie Thompson is a highly experienced media producer with a remarkable career spanning over 30 years, boasting an impressive portfolio of over 70 producer credits.

During her tenure as a producer at the National Film Board of Canada, Thompson collaborated with talented film and media professionals on various impactful projects, including documentaries, animations, and interactive works that tackle significant social issues and challenge traditional norms in both form and content.

Her works have garnered international acclaim, being showcased by renowned broadcasters, featured in global festivals, and widely distributed through online platforms, earning numerous awards and nominations.

After her successful journey at the NFB, Thompson founded her own production company, Dreaming Bird, where she continues to create compelling media independently.

Recently, she was recognized for her outstanding contributions to the media industry with a prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award from the Alberta Media Industry Association.

Thompson's career highlights include producing notable projects like the acclaimed documentaries Angry Inuk, Birth of a Family, and Weibo’s War; the Academy Award-nominated animation Wildlife; as well as the interactive documentaries Bear 71 and Invisible World, the latter of which won a coveted Webby Award.
