Chief Information Officer at Peace Corps
Thomas Peng is a seasoned leader with over 20 years of experience in the public and private sectors, particularly in technology and nonprofit organizations. He currently serves as the Chief of Operations and Administration (COA) at the Peace Corps, a role he has held since April 3, 2023. In this capacity, he oversees internal operations, human resources, and strategic information, research, and planning. Previously, he served as the Peace Corps' Chief Information Officer (CIO), where he enhanced operational efficiency and fostered a culture of transparency and inclusion.1
Peng's connection to the Peace Corps began as a Volunteer in the Philippines from 2006 to 2008, where he trained teachers to integrate technology into their classrooms. Throughout his career, he has been a strong advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.1
He holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a master's degree in Information Systems with a specialization in security from Boston University.1
