Thomas Ondrcka

Thomas Ondrcka is a tourism industry veteran with over two decades of experience in various sectors of the industry. He began his career in sales and marketing of traditional Central European spa products before moving on to manage a 90-room city hotel. He has also been responsible for coordinating state policies related to tourism and regional policy, as well as participating in the creation of state aid schemes aimed at supporting tourism businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ondrcka has performed sales and marketing activities with GCC countries in the field of spa business and hospitality sector, while also being an e-sales expert on web reservation portals. Additionally, he has experience in yield management in the hospitality sector, as well as price and occupancy optimization. He was the President of the Hotel and Restaurant Association from 2018 to 2021 and currently serves as the Vice President of Bratislava Hotel Association.

Ondrcka studied Hospitality Administration/Management at Ekonomická univerzita v Bratislave and also completed a semester of Betriebswirtschaftslehre at Johannes Kepler Universität Linz. He has also been a Director General at the Department of Tourism at Ministerstvo dopravy a výstavby Slovenskej republiky and has served as the Strategic Advisor to the State Secretary and the Minister for Tourism at the same organization. Prior to that, he held various positions including the General Manager, Vice president of the Board at Hotel Devin, and Sales Executive, Vice president of the Board at Hotel Devin. He was also the Territorial Manager/Head of Sales dept. at Spa Piestany.

Given his extensive experience, Thomas Ondrcka is a valuable asset to any tourism-related organization, combining his sales and marketing expertise with his knowledge of state policies in the field of tourism.
