    In 2012, Thomas Magauer transitioned into an independent research role as a Liebig-junior research group leader at the LMU Munich, receiving prestigious support from entities like the Emmy Noether Program of the German Research Foundation (2013–2018) and the European Research Council Starting Grant (2017–2021).

    His academic prowess and research contributions were further acknowledged in 2017 when he was granted the Goering Visiting Professorship at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
