Thanos Kosmidis

Thanos Kosmidis is the Co-founder and CEO of Care Across, a digital health company focused on supporting cancer patients by providing personalized resources and a community for guidance throughout their treatment journeys. He has held this position since August 2013, after leaving a role as the Strategic Commercial Planning Deputy Director at OTE Group, a leading mobile operator in the Balkans.12

Education and Early Career

Kosmidis earned his Master of Engineering (MEng) in Computing from Imperial College London in 2000, followed by a Master's degree from Carnegie Mellon University. He has also attended the Sloan School of Management at MIT for further studies.12 His early career included various technical and managerial roles at companies like Verizon Communications and COSMOTE, where he developed expertise in software architecture and service performance management.1

Contributions to Cancer Care

Under Kosmidis's leadership, Care Across has developed a platform that provides cancer patients with access to a wealth of information, community support, and expert advice. The service aims to empower patients by offering free access to resources that help them navigate their treatment options effectively. Kosmidis has emphasized the importance of patient-centered healthcare, which he believes is crucial for improving outcomes in cancer treatment.2

In addition to his work at Care Across, Kosmidis has served as an Expert In Residence at Imperial Enterprise Lab and was a past assembly member of the European Commission's Mission on Cancer, reflecting his commitment to advancing cancer care on both local and European levels.123
