Terry Crews, Founder of Gabriel

Terry Crews is the founder of Gabriel, a health tech company focused on aging and elderly healthcare management. He started Gabriel in 2009 with the goal of helping seniors live independently in their own homes for longer without being a burden on their families.14

Crews has a long history in the tech industry, having built electronic devices from a young age. At 16, he spent a day with physicist Jules Sumner Miller who taught him to always challenge assumptions and never give up.1 Crews went on to invent the first laptop in 1982, which he initially thought was his greatest achievement.1

However, Crews believes his work with Gabriel has surpassed even that milestone. The company develops passive, non-intrusive technologies that allow families to monitor their elderly loved ones and receive alerts if something is amiss, while still respecting their privacy.1 Crews' own experiences watching his grandparents and parents age inspired him to find solutions to the challenges of elder care.1
