Teresa Tate

Teresa M.L. Tate is a prominent corporate partner who recently joined Reed Smith LLP as a partner in the Global Corporate Group and chair of the U.S. Emerging Growth & Venture Capital Group.23 She previously worked at Morrison & Foerster LLP, where she was a partner in the Mergers + Acquisitions (M&A) and Emerging Companies + Venture Capital (ECVC) Groups.14

Tate has over 20 years of experience advising private and public companies on complex mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, divestitures, and other material business transactions.2 She also represents investors, including venture capital funds, private equity firms, and angel investors, in their investments in private companies.2

Her practice focuses on various industries, including enterprise software, e-commerce, digital media, AI, financial services, healthcare, consumer products, and autonomous vehicles.2 Tate earned her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and a B.A. from Wellesley College.23

In addition to her legal work, Tate serves as an advisor to the Investment Committee of Black Girls CODE.3
