Ted Brandt

Ted Brandt is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Marathon Capital, LLC, an independent investment bank established in 1999. The firm specializes in providing financial advisory services within the global sustainable technology, clean power, and infrastructure sectors. Under Brandt's leadership, Marathon Capital has completed nearly 300 transactions related to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria, making it one of the most active firms in the renewable energy investment banking space.12

Professional Background

Before founding Marathon Capital, Brandt accumulated extensive experience in the finance and leasing industries. He held various senior positions at large non-bank finance companies for over 15 years, where he was responsible for managing profit and loss (P&L) statements, overseeing teams of up to 400 employees, and executing numerous securitization financings. His roles included chairing investment committees and engaging in asset mergers and acquisitions.123

Education

Ted Brandt earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Oberlin College in 1984 and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 1987. He is also involved in academia, serving on the Advisory Council for the Becker Friedman Institute at the University of Chicago and previously on the Board of Trustees for Oberlin College.
