Tarak Shah is a climate advocate deeply committed to combating the climate emergency. He holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Cornell University's Johnson Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Throughout his career, Tarak Shah has held significant roles in various prominent organizations. He has served as the Chief of Staff at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and as the Climate and Science Agencies Personnel Lead during the Biden-Harris Transition Team. Prior to these roles, he was the National Political Director at Organizing Together 2020 and an Independent Consultant focusing on Clean Energy and Climate Policy.
Tarak Shah's experience also includes leadership positions within the U.S. government. He was the Chief of Staff and Under Secretary for Science and Energy at the U.S. Department of Energy. Additionally, he served as a Special Assistant within the United States Department of Defense and the Executive Office of the President, handling operational energy plans & programs and environmental quality initiatives, respectively.
In the political sphere, Tarak Shah has contributed significantly to various campaigns and offices. He has been the Director of Human Resources at the Office of President-Elect Barack Obama, the Deputy Director of Human Resources at Obama for America, and the Director of Operations at Hopefund Leadership PAC. He has also been involved in fundraising efforts, notably with Obama For Illinois.
