Tao Sun

Tao Sun is a Postdoctoral Associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he is involved in research that spans multiple disciplines, including MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems), neural interfaces, flexible electronics, and biomaterials. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology in China, and completed his Master's degree at the same institution, focusing on composite coatings. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Hong Kong in 2010.

Before joining MIT, Tao Sun worked as a research scientist at the Institute of Microelectronics in Singapore, where he developed neural interfaces aimed at reducing fibrous tissue encapsulation. His contributions include pioneering work on bio-resolvable neural probes. At MIT, he is part of Prof. Canan Degdeviren's group and is dedicated to advancing technologies in neural interfaces and flexible electronics.12
