Tanweer Alam

Tanweer Alam is a highly accomplished professional with a diverse range of expertise and experience. Graduating with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Communication from Jamia Millia Islamia, he began his career with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) as a software engineer. His passion lie within the IT sector which has grown exceptionally in his career. During his stint at TCS, he worked with various clients from different domains and garnered experience on multiple technologies such as .Net, Java, and mainframes. He then joined Expedia as a software development engineer, where he worked on the development of web applications for hotels and vacation package bookings.

Tanweer Alam now works with BigBasket as a Senior Engineering Manager. His focus is on building and scaling the delivery supply chain system that encompasses order picking, packing, and dispatching. He leads the team through building applications, integration with warehouse execution systems, and optimizes the fulfillment algorithms to ensure the fastest and most cost-effective delivery of orders. Under his leadership, his team developed various projects such as AI-based Parcel Route Optimization, Multi-node Sortation for automated parcel loading in the delivery van, and a Personalization Engine that caters the personalized experience to customers based on their order history.

Throughout his career, Tanweer has displayed a strong determination to deliver results with a zeal for innovation. He consistently strives for excellence which helps towards achieving his goals. He has excellent leadership and communication skills and can efficiently lead cross-functional teams.
