Tammi Jonas is an accomplished ethicurean farmer, mindful meatsmith, and agrarian activist from Victoria, Australia. She and her husband steward one of the leading paddock-to-paddock Community-Supported Agriculture (CSA) farms in the region, raising pastured rare-breed Large Black pigs and Speckleline cattle. They transform the meat into a range of fresh cuts, smallgood, charcuterie, and salumi in their on-farm butcher's shop. Tammi is passionate about the ethical and ecologically sound transformation of the food system, promoting everyone's right to access nutritious, culturally-appropriate food grown in sustainable and equitable ways. As the former President of the Australian Food Sovereignty Alliance (AFSA), Tammi continues to promote food sovereignty and work with peasant farmers and Indigenous Peoples throughout the world.

Tammi holds a PhD in Anthropology and is currently analyzing the economics and ecologies of raising rare breed livestock as compared to industrial breeds. She is also analyzing the potential or actual impact of various United Nations governing bodies' promotion to increase agricultural biodiversity on Australian agriculture. Tammi has extensive experience working in various roles in academia, serving as a lecturer in Gastronomy and Communication at Southern Cross University, a contributing author and project officer at University of Melbourne, and PhD candidate at the same university. She has authored and co-edited a range of scholarly works and publications, including her most recent book "Farming Democracy: Radically transforming the food system from the ground up."
