Tama Berkeljon

Tama Berkeljon, a New Zealand-based designer and engineer, has made significant contributions to the film and television industry through his mechanical engineering and design prowess. He began his career at Weta Workshop Group of Companies, where he worked as a Mechanist/Engineer-Apprentice for production on The Lord of the Rings trilogy. In 2001, he moved on to work in film and TV lighting, theater, and industrial design and fabrication. In 2004, Tama founded Outsight to research and develop lighting equipment and accessories for the film and television industries. Additionally, he has designed various systems and components for compact 3D cameras, 3D projection systems, and motion capture equipment. Tama is passionate about the design process, particularly in the collaborative nature of it. He enjoys visiting new factories and understanding the processes that produce designers' dreams. Tama is an experienced engineer and coach, willing to share his knowledge and expertise with other professionals.
