Tait Russell
Staff Geologist, The Riley Group, Inc.
Tait Russell is an experienced Staff Geologist working in the environmental department at The Riley Group, Inc. He specializes in conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA), Phase II subsurface investigations, groundwater well installations, groundwater sampling, site characterizations, and remedial investigations. Russell has also worked on the decommissioning, removal, and confirmation sampling of underground storage tanks (USTs), and has experience in soil excavation, waste disposal coordination, and preparation of technical reports. His expertise extends to environmental and engineering seminars, which provide him with current and up-to-date knowledge about the industry.
As the former Chair of the Puget Sound chapter of the Association of Environmental and Engineering Geologists (AEG), Russell oversaw the activities of the largest chapter in the organization. During his tenure, the chapter won the "Outstanding Chapter Award" in 2019. Russell is also an alumnus of the University of Washington, where he earned his B.S. in Earth and Space Sciences and his M.S. in Earth and Space Sciences: Applied Geosciences (MESSAGe). During his studies, he developed specialized knowledge in remote sensing, focusing on drones and Structure from Motion, which he hopes to incorporate into the environmental services he provides.
