I worked as a prosecutor and was responsible for cases all the way from charging the case through negotiation and trial. During my time with the office I rotated through several different bureaus and gained expertise in domestic violence, and substance abuse cases.  I served as the office's representative to the Pinal County Domestic Violence Task Force and represented the office at both the Domestic Violence Specialty Court and the Drug Specialty Court. 

My experience with many different types of cases has helped me to be able to evaluate evidence and determine the best pathway possible to a successful and just resolution.

Instruct online students on business law including topics such as contracts, torts, constitutional law, employment law, and ethics. Facilitate class discussions on the weekly topics and provide detailed feedback to students on a weekly basis to both assist them in mastering core principles and strengthening their writing skills.  Typical class size ranges from eighteen to twenty two students.

University of Phoenix

I worked as a prosecutor in the Preliminary Hearing Bureau in both downtown Phoenix and in Mesa.  In both locations I was responsible for managing felony files on a daily basis including plea negotiation and drafting.  I also managed my own assigned misdemeanor caseload in Maricopa County Justice Courts, which included jury trials, bench trials, and pretrial work.  

In addition to my regular responsibilities, I trained newly hired employees with the County Attorney's office on victims' rights statutes and case law.

Maricopa County Attorney's Office

Represented crime victims in criminal cases to ensure their rights were upheld in Arizona superior and appellate courts.  Representation consisted of research, drafting, and oral argument on all substantive victim issues of the criminal case including motions in limine and victim specific litigation.  Responsible for an active caseload of approximately 40 capital and non-capital cases as victim’s counsel.

Crime Victim Legal Assistance Project

Staff Attorney

Participated in judicial functions including checking citations, acting as bailiff during oral argument, and drafting Anders opinions for Judge Jon Thompson.  Researched issues for judicial memorandum decisions.  Presented a draft decision at one of the appellate panel’s judicial conferences.
