Sydney Mupeta

Sydney Mupeta is a highly experienced engineer and technology leader with a track record of over 15 years in Central and East Africa, focusing on planning, designing, operating, and modernizing telecommunication networks.

Sydney Mupeta holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with Distinction from the University of Zambia, a Certificate in Business Analytics, Economics for Managers, and Financial Accounting with Honors from HBX / Harvard Business School, and a Master’s Degree in Communication Engineering with Distinction from The University of Manchester.

Sydney has held key leadership positions at various renowned organizations, including his current role as the CEO at Zamtel. Previously, he served as the Acting CEO and the Chief Technical Officer at Zamtel. He also worked at Ericsson, where he held positions such as Head of Design & Planning for Zambia, Malawi & Tanzania, Senior Customer Solution Sales Manager, and Customer Solution Manager for Zain Zambia & Malawi. Sydney's career journey also includes a role as a Senior Network Planning Engineer at Celtel Zambia.
