Sutina Chou
PhD Student in Political Science
Sutina Chou is a dedicated third-year student majoring in international relations and comparative politics with a minor in Sociology, with a keen interest in critical international relations, humanitarianism, and the politics of knowledge and expertise.
Her research focuses on analyzing the portrayal of medicine and health professionals as neutral entities in international politics and their impact on global health governance.
Apart from academics, Sutina is actively involved in promoting equity, inclusion, and innovative teaching practices within the academic environment.
She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Political Science and Government from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, and an Honours Bachelor of Arts and Science with Combined Honours in Political Science from McMaster University. Sutina also completed her Ontario Secondary School and International Baccalaureate Diploma at Bayview Secondary School.
Sutina has a rich history of involvement in various organizations, including being a PhD student at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, a Research Assistant, Student Partner at the Paul R. MacPherson Institute for Leadership, Innovation and Excellence in Teaching, a Teaching Assistant, SHEC Coordinator, Social and Political Advocacy Coordinator, and Volunteer Coordinator at McMaster Students Union, as well as a Research Assistant at McMaster University.
