Susan Sarich

Susan Sarich, often referred to as "Susie," is the Founder and CEO of SusieCakes, a popular bakery chain known for its classic American desserts. With over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Sarich has built a successful brand that emphasizes homemade quality and nostalgia, drawing inspiration from her childhood experiences of baking with her grandmothers.

Education and Early Career

Sarich graduated from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, where she later served as a Dean's Distinguished Lecturer. She began her career at Hyatt Hotels and gained experience at notable establishments such as the House of Blues and the Mobil 5-Star Everest restaurant. Her entrepreneurial journey took off when she co-founded Zinc Bistrot in Portland, Oregon, which was recognized as one of Zagat’s “America’s Top Restaurants”.13

In 2006, Sarich opened the first SusieCakes location in Brentwood, Los Angeles, inspired by her desire to create a bakery that offered home-style treats made from scratch. Sarich has been a Board Member of the California Restaurant Association since April 2018.
