Susan Mitchell

Susan Mitchell is a seasoned leader with over 15 years of experience in health and research policy development. She possesses strong management, academic, and project delivery skills, driven by her curiosity and passion for impactful policy change.

Susan's educational background includes A Levels in Maths with Statistics, Geology, and Geography with top grades. She furthered her studies with a Postgraduate diploma in Healthcare Management and Policy with merit from the University of Birmingham, a PhD in Volcanology, and a Master of Science in Geology with first-class honors, both from the University of Bristol.

Throughout her career, Susan has held key roles in influential organizations, serving as the Head Of Policy for prevention, early detection, and diagnosis at Alzheimer's Research UK. Prior to this, she worked as the Policy Manager and Policy and Public Affairs Advisor at the same organization. Susan's expertise also extends to her role as the former Head of Health Policy at the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, and as the Service Delivery Manager at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. She kickstarted her professional journey through the Management Training Scheme at NHS.
