Susan McCue
President/CEO at The ONE Campaign
Susan McCue is a prominent political strategist and the founding President and CEO of The ONE Campaign, an organization dedicated to combating extreme global poverty. She has played a significant role in shaping advocacy efforts on a global scale, particularly through her leadership at ONE, which was launched with the support of U2's Bono in 2004. Under her guidance, the campaign has mobilized millions and united various stakeholders, including non-profits, celebrities, and political leaders, to address issues of poverty and social justice.135
Before her tenure at ONE, McCue served as Chief of Staff to U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid from 1999 to 2007. In this role, she was instrumental in managing leadership and policy operations within the Senate and was recognized for her influence during key legislative debates.123 Her strategic acumen has earned her accolades, including being named one of the most powerful women in Washington by Washingtonian Magazine and GQ Magazine.15
In addition to her work with ONE, McCue founded Message Global, a strategic communications firm focused on advancing civic campaigns and social action initiatives. She is also involved with various organizations, serving as Vice Chair of Humanity United and as a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.35 McCue holds degrees in economics and journalism from Rutgers University.14
