Susan Hassan

Susan Hassan is a seasoned financial services executive, investor, and strategic advisor with expertise in M&A transactions, capital raising, and corporate governance across various sectors like financial services, energy, biotech, consumer products, and technology.

She founded Sea Dune Partners to offer capital and strategic guidance, particularly focusing on women founders and entrepreneurs, and has actively served on multiple corporate and non-profit boards of directors.

Prior to establishing Sea Dune Partners, Susan was a partner at Valor Equity Partners, a private equity firm managing over $4.5 billion in assets, concentrating on tech-enabled growth companies like SpaceX, Addepar, and Fooda. Her responsibilities included management, strategic planning, investment prospect generation, and transaction structuring. She also played a crucial role in the firm's investment committee.

Before her tenure at Valor Equity Partners, Susan held the position of corporate partner at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, specializing in M&A transactions, corporate governance, and strategic advice for a wide range of companies, from Fortune 500 to emerging growth ventures. She was actively involved in promoting diversity and inclusion initiatives while serving as a hiring partner in the Chicago office.

Susan's contribution also extends to academia, where she has lectured on corporate transactions at prestigious institutions like Harvard Law School and the University of Chicago Law School. Recognized for her leadership, she was chosen as a Henry Crown Fellow by the Aspen Institute.

Currently, Susan serves on the boards of directors of CARE USA and CARE Enterprises, Inc., following her previous roles on the boards of Equality Now, Clean Energy Trust, Women's Sports Foundation, and the Chicago Public Library.
