Surya Karki

Surya Karki, a distinguished individual and Schwarzman Scholar, has an impressive background in public service and education. He served as a public service fellow to former Nepali Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and currently holds the prestigious position of United World Schools Director to Nepal. As a co-founder and President of the Diyalo Foundation, he has contributed significantly to the community through various initiatives. Surya's dedication to education is evident in his efforts to construct ten primary schools in Nepal's Sankhuwasabha district, earning him recognition and awards from notable entities such as the Prince of Wales, Christian Science Monitor Magazine, and the International Youth Foundation. His academic journey includes studies at renowned institutions like the College of the Atlantic, Simon Bolivar United World College, and Tsinghua University, focusing on Economics, Sustainable Business, and Agriculture.
