Suril Butala

Suril Butala is a Vice President at Sorenson Capital, focusing on early-stage technology startups within the Ventures team.12 He joined Sorenson Capital in August 2021 and was promoted to Vice President in February 2024.1 Butala specializes in investing in B2B software companies, particularly in the areas of financial infrastructure and Go-To-Market domains.1

Butala holds a Bachelor's Degree in Finance from the University of Michigan's Stephen M. Ross School of Business. He is known for his analytical approach to technology investing and has co-authored the firm's Best BoD Deck series, which provides guidance to CEOs, Marketing Leaders, and Sales Leaders on preparing for Board of Directors meetings.1

In addition to his investment activities, Butala serves as the Co-Chair of Sorenson's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.
