Suraj Maharjan

Suraj Maharjan is an accomplished professional with a strong educational background and diverse work experience in the field of Computer Science and Engineering.

Suraj earned his Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering with an impressive GPA of 86.3/100 from the prestigious Institute of Engineering, Pulchowk Campus.

Prior to that, he studied Physics at St. Xavier's College, Nepal, showcasing his multidisciplinary interests and knowledge.

He continued his academic pursuit and obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he excelled with a GPA of 3.9/4.0.

Suraj furthered his education by completing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science with a perfect GPA of 4.0/4.0 at the University of Houston.

Professionally, Suraj currently holds the position of Principal Machine Learning - Natural Language Processing Scientist at Capital One, where he contributes his expertise in the intersection of machine learning and NLP.

Prior to his current role, Suraj gained valuable experience as a Post Doctoral Research Associate at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), where he conducted cutting-edge research in the field.

He also worked as a PhD Intern and Research Intern - Data Science at PNNL, showcasing his dedication to research and data-driven methodologies.

During his academic journey, Suraj worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Houston and gained industry experience as a Software Engineer and Intern at Verisk Information Technologies.
