Suprotik Basu

Suprotik Basu is a renowned investment and philanthropic expert, with a focus on bettering global healthcare access and driving the transition towards clean energy. A senior advisor at Wesray Social Investments, he mobilizes private capital for public health and manages biotech and healthcare private equity investments. He co-founded Blue like an Orange Sustainable Capital, a mezzanine credit/subordinated debt-focused impact fund, and served as a partner with a focus on originating and leading transactions, sustainability and impact, and investment and sustainability committee membership. He is also on the firm's advisory council. Previously, he was the Chief Executive Officer at the UN Special Envoy for Health Financing and Managing Director at Malaria No More, where he helped mobilize and deploy over $3.5 billion of resources to improve child and maternal health and eradicate malaria worldwide. Basu is affiliated with several non-profits, including Big Win Philanthropy, Partners in Health, and Nutrition International, as a Board member, and also serves on the Advisory Board of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from The Johns Hopkins University and the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, Maryland.
