Summer Yue is a skilled software engineer with a background in Computer Science and Economics from the Jerome Fisher M&T Program and The Wharton School. She has worked at top companies like Google and Microsoft and has experience in building large-scale deep learning models and infrastructure. Her interest lies in understanding the vulnerabilities of large ML systems and AI value alignment, including areas like reinforcement learning, interpretability, value learning, adversarial examples, and fairness.
Summer Yue started her career as a Web Programmer Intern at Oliden technology, LLC, followed by an internship at China Petroleum as a Software Engineering Intern. At Microsoft, she worked as a Backend Engineer for Microsoft Office, followed by a Software Engineering Internship at Square, where she worked on Compliance Engineering on Finance and Analytics. In her role as a Software Engineer – YouTube Trust and Safety at Google, she was responsible for improving YouTube's safety across various dimensions, like misinformation, spam, hate speech, and more. Her most recent role has been as an RL Software Engineer at Google Brain, where she works on building large-scale deep learning models.
