Sujeet Kumar

Sujeet Kumar is a prominent figure in the Indian e-commerce and technology industry. He served as the President of Operations at Flipkart.com from December 2008 to September 2012.1 Kumar is an alumnus of IIT Delhi, where he graduated with a B.Tech in Civil Engineering.4

After his tenure at Flipkart, Kumar co-founded Udaan.com in 2016 along with Amod Malviya and Vaibhav Gupta, who were also former senior executives at Flipkart.23 Udaan is a B2B e-commerce platform that has gained significant success, reaching unicorn status faster than any other Indian tech startup.2

During his time at Flipkart, Kumar played a crucial role in building the company's operations, supply chain, and logistics, which accounted for more than half of Flipkart's sales.4 He was instrumental in setting up the backbone of the distribution network for e-commerce in India.4

Kumar's journey to Flipkart is noteworthy. Initially reluctant to move to Bangalore, he was persuaded by Sachin Bansal, his junior from IIT Delhi, to visit and learn about the company.3 When Kumar joined Flipkart, it was still a small operation with only two people and daily orders of 7-8 books.3

Currently, Sujeet Kumar is based in Bihar, India.1 He is also a Founder and Trustee of Plaksha University.4
