Sue Daley is the Director of Technology and Innovation at techUK, a leading technology trade association in the UK. In her role, she oversees various work programs focusing on critical areas such as cloud computing, data protection, data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), digital ethics, and the Internet of Things (IoT). Additionally, she plays a significant part in shaping innovation policy and addressing emerging technologies.13
Daley has been recognized as one of the most influential figures in UK technology, having been included in Computer Weekly's UKtech50 Longlist and inducted into the Computer Weekly Most Influential Women in UK Tech Hall of Fame in 2021. She is also known for her contributions to the UK's data agenda and serves as co-chair of the UK government's National Data Strategy Forum.12
Before joining techUK in January 2015, Sue was involved in government relations for Symantec in the UK and Ireland and worked as a senior policy advisor at the Confederation of British Industry (CBI). She holds a BA in History and American Studies from Leeds University and a Master's degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from the University of Birmingham. Outside her professional life, Sue is an accomplished sportswoman, having successfully swum the English Channel in 2016.134
