    Day 18

Figuring out how much animation this app should have.

Animations are nice when people are in a good mood. They add something. But this app is different.

People don’t open a mood tracker with the same energy every time.

If someone is feeling okay or better, a bit of movement is fine. It helps carry that feeling. But when someone is low, even a small playful motion can feel wrong. It’s like the app isn’t paying attention.

So the app has to respond differently. More when someone has energy. Less when they don’t.

    UI is mostly there now.

The tricky part is in the UX, to show the right animation intensity based on mood energy.

    Day 17

I am completely revamping the Home Screen.

The earlier version looked okay, but it was noisy and I couldn’t feel the essence of it. Too many touches, unnecessary elements.

People shouldn’t have to think when they open an app. They shouldn’t get distracted by options that don’t matter.

When I write poems, I don’t even capitalise letters or use full stops. My mentor once told me that everything is a choice.

every pause every line break every missing full stop

You decide where the reader’s attention goes.

I am treating this app the same way.

Designing it like I write poems.
