Stuart Casarotto

Stuart Casarotto is a Frontend Software Engineer with a focus on web and mobile development, interested in AI/ML, open-source software (OSS), and design systems. He is currently based in Chicago, Illinois, United States.1

Stuart's professional background is diverse and impressive. He co-founded a technology consulting start-up in Chicago, IL, which provided him with valuable software engineering experience. Later, he served as a Digital Service Expert in the Defense Digital Service, where he advised the Department of Defense (DoD) on modernizing and securing technology. In this role, he interacted with high-level DoD leadership, providing technical expertise and building software solutions for emergent needs.1

Prior to his current position at PathAI, Stuart was the Director of Product and Lead Frontend Engineer at Ubiety Technologies, Inc. from July 2020 to April 2022. His skill set includes web and mobile development, data visualization, product vision, technical advising, leadership, and mentorship. He is proficient in technologies such as React, React Native, JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, HTML, and D3.1

Before joining Ubiety, Stuart worked on national security projects at the Defense Digital Service, under the Secretary of Defense's office. His work there included protecting DOD assets from unmanned aircraft and reinventing policy and processes for rapidly deploying secure modern software. Stuart has also built software products for small businesses and startups across various sectors. Notably, some of his software continues to be used in the construction industry and for operating logistics at large events like the Super Bowl and PGA Tour.2

Currently, Stuart is working at PathAI, a Boston-based artificial intelligence company developing therapeutics and healthcare products. PathAI focuses on creating a technical pathology program that can provide efficient and more accurate diagnoses for patients and providers. The company also works on research, drug development, global health solutions, and treatments.3
