Steven Peterson, a retired Special Agent of the United States Department of Justice, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is a seasoned expert in narcotic enforcement, investigations, addiction & demand reduction. With almost three decades of experience, Peterson is a member of the National Law Enforcement Speakers Bureau, LLC, a network resource for retired DEA Special Agents and Foreign Service Officers providing consultation, training, and assistance to law enforcement agencies and corporations in various narcotic, financial, criminal & civil related fields.
Peterson's career as a DEA Special Agent includes success in complex investigations involving Mexican Black Tar Heroin and money laundering in the medical and legal cannabis industry as well as financial investigations. Moreover, he has received numerous awards and commendations, including Lead Investigator in the investigation of the murder of DEA SA Ray Stastny in 1987 in Atlanta.
Peterson's experience as a DEA Atlanta Field Division Training Coordinator (DTC), coordinating and conducting training to all DEA employees within the Atlanta Division, has provided him with unique insights into training methodologies for law enforcement professionals. As a DEA DTC, Peterson has trained over 80,000 law enforcement officers, state & local police officers, and civilians within Georgia, Tennessee, North & South Carolina.
Peterson is a graduate of Northeastern University, where he studied Criminal Justice. He is a Law Enforcement Specialist/Instructor at DHS, FLETC Charleston. Moreover, he has served as an Advisory Board member at ScriptGuard and a Guest Speaker at Physicians Choice Laboratory Services (PCLS).
