Steven Cox

Steven Cox is currently the Principal Product Marketplaces Architect at Microsoft, a position he has held since September 2021. He joined Microsoft following the acquisition of his company, TakeLessons, where he served as Founder and CEO for over 15 years. TakeLessons is an education technology platform that connects learners with instructors for various lessons, both online and in-person, and it serves over 25 million users annually.1

In his role at Microsoft, Cox is responsible for driving global business strategy and product expansion within the marketplaces division. His work includes testing new markets and models, as well as liaising with creators in the gig economy.1

Cox has more than two decades of experience in the technology sector, focusing on innovative solutions that leverage the internet and the gig economy to transform underserved industries. He also serves on the board of advisors for several tech startups and is involved in mentoring aspiring entrepreneurs. He holds degrees in Investment Finance and Human Communication from Eastern Kentucky University.1
