Steve Weinstein

Steve Weinstein is a prominent figure in Bermuda's business and environmental sectors. He was elected Chair of the Bermuda Business Development Agency (BDA) in 2020, having been a board member since 2016.24 Weinstein currently serves as the Chair of Itasca Re, a recently launched Bermuda specialty reinsurer, and as Chair of the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences (BIOS).35

Prior to his current roles, Weinstein had a long career in the insurance industry. He worked at RenaissanceRe, where he held the position of Executive Vice President, Group General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Chief Compliance Officer until December 31, 2020.2

Weinstein is known for his commitment to climate resilience and sustainability. He was recently appointed to the advisory council of ClimateTech Connect, a global conference focused on climate resilience through technology.1 He also serves on the Bermuda Covid-19 Economic Advisory Committee.8

In addition to his professional roles, Weinstein is actively involved in promoting Bermuda as a business destination. He frequently speaks about Bermuda's transparency and its value proposition for international business.67
