Steve Lickteig is a highly experienced executive producer in the podcast industry, currently serving as co-founder and executive producer at Small Good Thing, a podcast consultancy and production house. With expertise in building and improving audio businesses, as well as fixing broken editorial systems, Lickteig has worked for top-tier media outlets such as NBC News, Slate Magazine, and NPR. As the former executive producer of podcasts and audio for NBC News and MSNBC, he managed the team responsible for production and strategy of original podcasts and audio programming. As the former head of the Slate Podcast Network, he oversaw 25 shows, including several he helped create. He also served as the executive producer of NPR's Weekend All Things Considered, covering breaking news, politics, and culture for more than 4 million listeners each week. With over two decades of experience in public and commercial radio, Lickteig began his audio career as a DJ and has even directed and produced a documentary film. He studied English Language and Literature/Letters at The University of Kansas and served as a United States Marine. Today, Lickteig lives in Washington D.C. with his wife and two sons.
