Steve Halter

Steve Halter is currently the Vice President of SoC Architecture at Arm, a position he has held since August 2023.1 He is located in San Diego, California.1 Halter is an engineer who enjoys solving problems and designing solutions, especially at the system level, which involves learning about new technologies, use-cases, and applications.1

Prior to working at Arm, Steve Halter held the following positions1:

• Vice President of SoC Hardware Engineering at NXP Semiconductors (June 2020 – July 2022). In this role, he led a global engineering team creating Automotive and Edge Processing SoCs, including architecture, security, and functional safety teams.
• Sr. Director of Engineering at Qualcomm (October 2013 – June 2020). He was responsible for setting the architectural roadmap and priorities for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon SoCs. He also managed a design team of around 130 engineers across the USA, India, and Europe.

• Principal Engineer at Qualcomm (October 2007 – October 2010)

Halter received a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California San Diego (1996-2000) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from the same university (1991-1995).1 He also holds certifications in Deep Learning and Machine Learning from Coursera.1
