Steve Cochran is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in sales and general management, specializing in corporate and early-stage tech companies across various locations such as Silicon Valley, San Diego, Austin, and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Steve has a rich background working with Fortune 100 companies and venture-backed startups. He has a strong track record of founding and co-founding companies, including a wireless startup in San Jose called hereUare Communications.
In his career, Steve has provided comprehensive support to early-stage companies by addressing vital business issues throughout their life cycles. He is well-versed in areas such as investor presentations, strategic partnership strategy development, IP protection & licensing, mergers and acquisitions, and successful exit strategies.
With a focus on Sales/Business Development, Steve has managed full life-cycle business operations and held significant responsibilities, including managing a $100M P&L for NCR and AT&T Computer and Communications divisions, where he sold NCR computers to the US Communications Industry.
Steve's expertise extends to working with early-stage tech companies, particularly in the wireless data communications industry. He successfully secured multiple rounds of venture financing totaling $18M for hereUare Communications and negotiated international OEM license agreements with prominent Wi-Fi manufacturers like Samsung, 3Com, Lucent, Intersil & Toshiba.
Post the sale of hereUare's Hot Spot business in 4Q2002, Steve founded Wi-Fi Partners, a consultancy specializing in assisting early-stage companies with venture funding and strategic positioning of their products. His specialties include international sales & business development and inbound/outbound technology delegations.
Steve pursued his undergraduate studies, earning a BS degree from Wayne State University, and has held various key roles in renowned organizations like Bandspeed, Semtek, hereUare Communications, SOHO Wireless, and NCR/AT&T/Teradata.
