Steve Bennington, Chairperson at The Bessemer Society

Steve Bennington is currently the CEO of Q5D, a Joint Venture that is automating the production of wiring harnesses for various industries.1 He has held this position since November 2018.1

In addition to his role as CEO, Bennington also serves as:

  • Chairperson of The Bessemer Society since December 20221
  • Oxford Co-ordinator of The Bessemer Society since January 20171
  • Visiting Professor at University College London since 2008, where he supervises students and runs projects in collaboration with the staff at the London Centre for Nanotechnology1

Previously, Bennington was the Founder and Director of Krino Partners Limited, a company that provided services to high-tech start-ups and investors.1 He has also held roles such as Director at Arkenlight Limited, Interim CEO at BBR Filtration Limited, and Business Director of the Advanced Materials Division at Thomas Swan & Co. Ltd.1

Bennington has a strong background in the high-tech industry, having been the CEO and one of the founders of Cella Energy Ltd, a company that developed hydrogen storage materials and lightweight power supplies for the aerospace sector.1 He raised over $10 million in equity and commercial contracts for the company.1

Bennington holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Birmingham, an MSc in Nuclear Reactor Technology from the University of Birmingham, and a BSc (Hons) in Physics from the University of Warwick.1 He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts Manufactures and Commerce.1
