Born and raised in Kailua, Hawaii, Steve Bartz has been a Linux user since the age of 12. He pursued his education by studying Mathematical and Computational Science at Stanford University, holding Diplomas from Phillips Academy and Punahou School.

Steve has gained valuable experience through various roles, including serving as a Software Engineer at Two Sigma, Software Development Engineer at Amazon, Intern at 6Wunderkinder, Developer at Valley Girl, Inc., and Director of Technology at Scoop Media, Inc. He has also contributed as an Undergraduate Researcher in Statistics at Stanford University and held intern positions at Accu-Crete, Sprout, and the University of Hawaii, along with participation in the Summer Science Program.
