Stephen Rothman

Stephen Rothman is the owner of Rothman and Company, P.A., a legal firm specializing in providing legal and business advice primarily to companies formed around university technology and investors interested in such ventures.

With a strong focus on transactions involving university-based technology, Stephen's firm is adept at handling complex issues including university IP licenses, faculty-consultants' IP assignment obligations, and Bayh-Dole Act matters.

Apart from his expertise in university-related transactions, Stephen also offers a wide range of transactional legal services, boasting over 100 transactions in sales of businesses, mergers, and joint ventures.

Stephen Rothman received his J.D. degree cum laude from Harvard Law School and a B.A. cum laude from Yale College. Additionally, he took an intensive entrepreneurship course at MIT's Sloan School of Business in 2013 to further enhance his business acumen.

Although not handling patent applications directly, Stephen strives to stay updated on client technologies, having completed coursework in biochemistry and electronics in the past five years.

Stephen Rothman divides his time between Gainesville, Florida; Los Angeles / Pasadena, California; Boston / Cambridge, Massachusetts; and Naples, FL. His colleague, Sean Brady, is based in Pasadena, California.
